How long is the quran did it take ,to be revealed. The Holy Quran is the word of God Almighty, revealed to our master Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, the miraculousness in its formulation and meaning, and to his servants by reciting it. He transmitted it to us without interruption, and it is written in it. The Noble Qur’an from the first surah, which is Surah Al-Fatihah, to the last surah, which is Surah An-Nas, and the Holy Qur’an began to be revealed to the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. According to one estimate the Quran consists of 77,430 words, 18,994 unique words, 12,183 stems, 3,382 lemmas and 1,685 roots. Him through the descent of Gabriel, peace be upon him, after God Almighty sent him as a messenger, and the Holy Qur’an continued to descend upon the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, until his death, except that it was completed before his death. And between the period of his death, which is 23 full years, the Noble Qur’an was sealed with all its verses, surahs and meanings. It is worth noting that the revelation was revealed to the Messenger after forty years of his life, and the wisdom in that is that this stage of life is the stage of wisdom and the maturity of the stages of the revelation of the Holy Qur’an.
Stages of the revelation of the Noble Qur’an
The Holy Qur’an was revealed to our master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, at several periods and stages, and these stages are:
- Descending: It is the revelation of the Noble Qur’an once from God Almighty to the lowest heaven on the Night of Power in the blessed month of Ramadan. He was in the positions of the stars, then he began to descend upon the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, according to the facts and topics that occur, and the duration of the descent was Laylat al-Qadr. Once without specifying the year in which this night was, and whether it was the Night of Decree in which the Noble Qur’an was revealed before or after the Prophet’s mission.
- Separate revelation: The separate revelation of the Holy Qur’an took place over a period of 23 years, according to facts and events. The Almighty said: {And a Qur’an that We have made so that you may recite it to the people forever. The Holy Qur’an to Gabriel, peace be upon him. What all Muslim scholars said about the method of descending upon the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace.
What is the wisdom behind the revelation of the Holy Qur’an separately?
- To make it easier to memorize, understand and act upon it: recite the Qur’an to them little by little, and the Most High said
- To motivate people and motivate them to accept what was revealed from the Noble Qur’an and act upon it: People yearn and wait for the revelation of the Noble Verses that are commensurate with the course of their events and the realities of their daily lives. Especially when the need for these verses is great to separate truth from falsehood, as happened in the Al-Afk incident, for example.
Holy Quran collection
The meaning of the plural in the language is the source of the verb plural, and you put the thing together, making it one. In one book, the Mushaf, the Noble Qur’an was revealed separately, and the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was keen not to miss any word of it, so he repeats what Gabriel said. He, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was teaching him before he finished his education, but the revelation came down that the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, should not hurry, and issue the Qur’an together, and that God Almighty will preserve it. It is worth noting that the Holy Qur’an was written in its entirety at the death of the Prophet, but it was scattered.
How was the Holy Qur’an compiled
You may wonder about how the entire Holy Qur’an is done. The collection and arrangement of the Holy Qur’an went through three stages, which are:
- Compiling the Qur’an in the era of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: The first stage of the collection of the Noble Qur’an was in the era of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in two ways:
1) Collecting the Qur’an from the breasts: Many of the Companions used to memorize the Holy Qur’an, so they wrote down what they memorized from the verses of God Almighty.
2) Writing it in the lines: Where the Companions, may God be pleased with them, wrote the Noble Qur’an by order of the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, on palm leaves, on thin stones and on pieces of leather. Scattered among several sheets of paper.
- Collection of the Qur’an in the era of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq: After the martyrdom of many of the companions of the Holy Qur’an, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab advised Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq to collect the Holy Qur’an. Zaid bin Thabet collected the Holy Qur’an written on the newspapers and scriptures in one Mushaf, and the newspapers were placed with Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq until he died, then Omar bin Al-Khattab preserved them until he died, after which Hafsa bint Omar took over the task.
- Collecting the Qur’an during the era of Othman bin Affan: This was the third and final stage of the process of collecting the Holy Qur’an, and the main reason for collecting it was the difference in readings among the reciters, the entry of non-Muslims and non-Muslims to Islam, and the expansion of the Islamic state, so people referred to Othman bin Affan by collecting the Qur’an The Holy Prophet in one copy of the Qur’an on one reading so that the word could be agreed upon, and then Othman bin Affan sent to Hafsa to give them the papers to be copied in one Qur’an. God is free from alteration and distortion and has reached us as it is now, without any addition or subtraction.
How did the Holy Quran reach us?
But you may wonder how the Holy Qur’an reached us? All the scholars of the Islamic nation agreed that the Noble Qur’an is the word of God Almighty that He spoke and delivered to Gabriel, so Gabriel, peace be upon him, descended with it and revealed it to the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and delivered it to his hearing and his heart. The Lord of the Worlds (192) was brought down by the Trustworthy Spirit (193) into your heart so that you would be among the warners (194) in an Arabic language, the Noble Qur’an (195). The Qur’an is written in the Preserved Tablet and it is the Mother of the Book, and therefore Gabriel, peace be upon him, received the Noble Qur’an from the Lord of Glory, His Majesty, then the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, received it from Gabriel, peace be upon him, and then the Companions, may God be pleased with them, received it from the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and then He received it from the Companions of the Followers and the Followers of the Followers, and this is how the generations received it, generation after generation, preserved in the breasts and written in the Qur’an until it reached us today, mutawatir and preserved, by the protection of God for it.
